Our Client is a leading private orthopedic hospital in Ireland, with both a national and international reputation for orthopedic surgery and medicine. Our goal is to provide exceptional levels of quality care with a significant focus on positive outcomes and patient satisfaction. We are looking for an experienced Nurse for our day ward.
Job Summary:
- Support the implementation of the paperless Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Drive quality and ensure it is compliant to relevant standards.
- Admissions of patients to Day ward.
- Reception duties as part of your duties ensuring all calls and queries are answered.
- Ensuring all electronically referrals are correct on system.
- Preparing charts for the following day.
- Maintain an awareness of the privacy of patients in relation to all activities.
- Create a culture of accountability openness to change; respect for the individual and Teamwork that supports the achievement of our goals.
- Create and promote healthy working relationships
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the values of the clinic
- Actively participate in the Clinic’s accreditation program and the ethos of continuous quality improvement and implement and maintain procedures in the department.
- Contribute to the development of an organizational culture which is conducive to the establishment and maintenance of good staff morale.
- Ensure incidents, near misses, involving patients and staff are documented and reported in accordance with Clinic’s procedures and guidelines.
- Setting and monitoring standards.
- Contribute to the development of an organizational culture which is conducive to the establishment and maintenance of good staff moral.
- Have a flexible attitude.
- Liaise with Theater re time changes.
- Ensuring letters are filed in charts.
- Advise theatre staff of any changes to theatre list re additional cases, cancellation etc.
- Answer phone calls
- Checking of charts before sending to Wards.
Requirements:
- Previous orthopedic experience desirable but not necessary
- Opportunity to train in specialist disciplines such as Orthopedics
- Be computer literate.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities.
- Have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritize and manage a number of issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
- Be of good character.
- Garda Vetting.
